For sale is a highly underrated Epiphone Valve Special 5w electric guitar combo valve amps, dating from around 2006.
This was part of a short-lived series of full-valve amps produced by Epiphone in the mid-2000s. There were 3 main iterations, that being a head version, a combo version (very bare-bones, literally has a single gain knob) and this version - the Valve Special - which mitigated all of the quirks of the other two, being a portable combo with the added benefit tone controls, reverb and some decent built-in DSP effects.
It had a service at Coopersonic last year, is in full working order and is issue-free. As I've alluded to, I find these to be rather underrated amps. They are valve driven, which was unusual for Epiphone at the time, and I feel they were trying to move more in the direction of their 60s heyday.
Of all the variations of this amp, this model has the most utility to my mind - the extra bass/treble controls are greatly helpful and I find the onboard effects and reverb not to be objectionable. It's rated 5w but can go rather loud. All of this for under £200 - for a valve amp!
In good condition, as above it's been serviced so works wonderfully and sounds great. Some minor marks to the tolex - used but not abused, regularly-serviced and well looked-after.
Free postage to the mainland UK, I would also welcome collection on this due to the size and weight!
