For sale is a complete set of 2011 Fender USA Custom Shop 'Custom '69' pickups, factory hand-signed by Abigail Ybarra (AY) and hand-dated to 18th October 2011. 
 
There is some talk that around 2011 Abigail Ybarra was both supervising and doing her own pickup winding, both of which were always signed off by her (AY). Either way, she had a hand in producing these pickups. 
 
These currently retail for £309.00 on the Fender website - these however come with some favourable provenance and were hand-signed by her, having wound pickups for Fender since 1956 and only just recently retired.
 
The pickups themselves are fantastic and were Fender's attempt at emulating a '69 spec Stratocaster single coil set, featuring staggered pole pieces (particularly dramatic on the G/B pole) and I have seen them described 'scooped' sounding, which I think is accurate. They were designed with a lower output and a unique alnico 5 winding - instant Hendrix tone.
