For sale is a beautiful and short-lived USA Fender - the Highway One Telecaster.
 
This Highway One range was Fender's first attempt at a lower-end USA-built guitar, precluding the 'American Special' series, etc.
 
With hindsight, these were wonderfully-made and desirable instruments - unlike the USA Standard Series, they used a nitro top coat meaning their finishes age much like a 60s Fender. Features included for modern playability including a big comfortable 'C' neck and jumbo frets. Further to this, these had unique pickups (I believe they were simply denoted 'Highway One' pickups), wound a little hotter than usual for a proper 'hot Tele' sound.
 
This guitar is original save for the knobs, which are direct Fender and from the 'Roadworn' collection. The switch tip has also been replaced. 
 
The above thin nitro finish meant these guitars were much more prone to ageing and as such this guitar bears the marks of a life well-lived, though is free of any breaks or issues. 
 
It is currently set up nicely with 10s, however I am happy to set it up for 9s at the new owner's request!
 
A fantastic USA Tele in a desirable colour combo and nitro finish. It has the 'look' of a much older guitar - you could almost mistake it for a 70s Tele (big headstock and logo, etc).
 
I will include a generic soft case for the winning buyer. These models are fast becoming collectible and I believe will hold its value for some time to come.
