For sale is a beautiful Squier Precision Bass dating from 1990, factory-finished in an incredibly rare 'Maui Blue'.
I believe these were made for a limited time only, with the standout feature being the striking Maui Blue finish, which is somewhat richer than a Daphne Blue - really, really nice. Also features a real, dark rosewood fingerboard (which Squier were still using, at the time).
In good condition for a 90s guitar - used but not abused, with a few dings as pictured though nothing in the way of any breaks or undue wear. Frets have some wear, though plenty of life left in them and appears never to have been worked on.
Pickups are original - the pots were sadly non-functioning so it has had a fresh set of CTS pots added by the great Dicky at Fontaine Guitars (Nottingham). New knobs added - pickguard looks period though I'm unsure if it's original. Otherwise, all parts seem to be factory-fitted.
Plays beautifully, neck is a full-sized Fender 'C' - very comfortable in the hand. The factory Japanese Squier pickups are great - these guitars to me are equally as good as their Fender Japan counterparts, and were often built in the same factories.
A great Japanese-built Squier with real curb appeal owing to the lovely Maui Blue finish.
