For sale is a rare Finnish-built Landola J-12LS, dating from 1985.

Landola is one of the lesser-known, though highly respected European guitar builders of the 20th century. They supplied many a guitar to England while under the tail end of its trade embargo with USA in the early 60s.

Their quality I've found is Martin-esque - these were high quality acoustic guitars built from a fantastic selection of period, European woods available to Landola during the period.

By the mid-80s Landola were still producing guitars in the same tradition and here is one such example - an elusive model J-12LS. Essentially a 12 string dreadnough, built to exacting standards using all solid woods.

According to my research and Landola's own records, the top is constructed of solid Spruce and I believe the neck is part 'Forest Birch' constructed - a material reintroduced that year, accounting for the interesting grain pattern. The fingerboard I believe is either ebony/ebonised rosewood/darkwood - beautiful paired with the large block inlays.

This guitar is in excellent condition, having been well kept since its original purchase in 1985. It retains its factory gloss and is generally free of any excessive wear or damage. There is what appears to be a minor, historic repair to the left hand side of the top (pictured), which is clearly a solid and professional job.

It appears all original and even includes its original burgundy-lined hard case, a rarity in its own right.

Plays fantastically with a huge sound owing to the excellent build quality. The action is comfortable, truss rod is working and there's room to go down on the saddle, should you desire.

An elusive Finnish made guitar from some highly respected builders using some beautiful local timbers.
