For sale is a quality TKL-built hard case, to fit an ES-335 and similarly-shaped thinline electric guitars.

This one dates from the 1980s, owing to the lack of 'Gibson' branding to the outer (I believe they weren't present for the very early 80s models), the faded black/grey tolex and distinctive grey inner-lining. The TKL tag further reads 'case made in Canada', again which I believe earlier units did (to distinguish them from the guitars they housed, which of course were made in the USA).

It is an old case with plenty of wear. However, these were very well-built and many people use them to house 60s 335, 355 models etc (they're far sturdier than their Lifton counterparts). All the latches are present and functional, as are the case's 'feet' to the back side. There is some minor fraying/lift to the tolex, but again it is wholly complete. Inner compartment is present, with the aforementioned TKL pull tab still attached.

The inner lining has some age-related tarnishing and lint / browning etc, but this contributes to the case's vintage feel and again, means a vintage guitar looks right at home when housed in it!

Superior to the contemporary cases in my opinion, with a more neutral design (this would also fit an Epiphone Casino, Guild Starfire etc).

A reliable vintage Gibson-TKL 335 hard case at an attractive price when compared to equivalent options.
