For sale is a factory-matched set of Gibson USA 'T Top' pickups, both stamped January 1980.

Some of the very last to be made by Gibson - I believe they phased these out around '79-'81 in favour of the Tim Shaw redesign.

They read 7.55 (neck) and 7.64 (lead), very nicely balanced with a naturally slightly hotter neck output.

The covers naturally are chrome, but have aged fantastically with all the hallmarks of a much older pickup, with natural tarnishing, some greening and wear that one would pay good money for from many Custom Shop repros. Nickel baseplate with nickel pole screws, both aged wonderfully - these would be very much at home in an older / vintage guitar.

Naturally, they sound phenomenal - very close to an original PAF sound. These are a set of the desirable original T Top PAFS - not the 'Dirty Fingers' variant of the period, which were deliberately 'hotter'. These are strong, balanced and clear yet subtle - much like a PAF / early Pat No pickup.

Good braided wire lengths to both as pictured.
