A beautiful and rather unique Epiphone bass - a model ET-280 dating from circa 1972, made in Japan.

This bass dates from Epiphone’s initial run following moving production from Kalamazoo to Matsumoku, Japan.

Quite a unique bass, which I believe has its origin in designs by Aria.

Well-used, but in pretty much original condition without having suffered any breaks throughout its life.

Specs:

Country of origin: Japan (Matsumoku)

Date of manufacture: circa 1972

Finish: Cherry Red

Neck: 3 piece maple/equivalent light wood

Fingerboard: Rosewood with dot inlays

Body Style: Cutaway

Pickups: 2x Factory Epiphone Japan Bass pickups

Well/used, but free of breaks or repairs. Some dings to the body as pictured, including some scrapes to the finish at the side. All parts are however complete and I believe it’s all original. Frets in good condition with life left in them, neck is straight and the bass plays well with a comfortable low action.
