For sale is a cool and elusive Vox amp - an 'Escort 30' model, dating from circa 1970s.

Having researched it, I believe these amps were produced from 1975-83 and were available for purchase at Rose Morris.

It is a solid state, which is somewhat of a departure from Vox's 60s golden era amps. It does however keep the weight down significantly and features a built in fuzz circuit with separate channels to complement it. Thus, I feel these are worth it for the 70s fuzz alone.

As pictured, it also includes the original foot switch.

It's freshly back from Coopersonic Nottingham, where Martin gave it a full service consisting of:

  • Fit new mains plug
  • Re-cap main board
  • Clean all pots, sockets and switches
  • Clean chassis and earth connections
  • Repairs to footswitch
  • Several pot nuts
  • Orient knobs correctly
  • PAT test

It is now playing and sounding as it should. A quirky little amp with a great built in fuzz - with good utility for a low fi / authentic 70s garage rock sound.
