A nice Morris 'Hurricane' model set neck 'lawsuit' period electric guitar, made in Japan circa 1970s.
Morris was a brand operated by Toshio 'Morris' Moridaira that produced guitars out of the Moridaira Gakki (Japan) from circa 1960s-onward.
Built with a set neck - denoting it was of somewhat higher build quality (compared to the usual bolt-on necked guitars of the period. The pickups are unmarked and are identical to the humbuckers featured on other high-end Morris models. They're not Maxons, but have a decent sound (pics in listing).
Being a mid-70s lawsuit guitar, its burst matches the orangey, cherry hue used on Gibson bursts of the equivalent period. However, as with a Gibson-built guitar, the Cherry hue of the Sunburst has near-completely faded, leaving an unique and handsome ambered top.
Looking it up and down, the guitar appears to be wholly original. No signs of breaks, repair or serious damage present. I am selling this one for a little cheaper as the fret are ultimately in need of a level/profiling, as there are some divots to the guitar's 'cowboy chord' frets. It plays fine enough for now, but would benefit from the above fretwork down the line.
The body has some relatively minor dings and marks, commensurate with 50+ years of play.
No case, but will be well-packed for transit.
A nice set-neck Japanese guitars that punches well above its weight.
