For sale is a 'Lincoln' branded double cut, thru-neck electric guitar dating from circa 1970s (Japan). Lincoln, Memphis and more were some of the 'house brands' used by Matsumoku - all essentially the same model, rebadged.
This is one such example, dating from circa late 1970s, possibly very early 80s.
As suggested in the title, the neck and body central portion are all one piece, sandwiched by layers of wood to provide a 'sandwich'/longboard aesthetic - very handsome indeed.
The guitar is in excellent condition and has evidently been looked after very well. There is nothing in the way of any notable damage, just the odd minor mark to the finish and a tiny bit of lacquer flaking to the side of the neck (pictured).
The pickups on these are somewhat of a mystery - they are original and clearly modelled on Dimarzios - though they are almost certainly not. I believe some of the Japanese producers were making their own open-coiled pickups to emulate popular American designs. Regardless, they sound quite nice and complement the guitar well.
Plays wonderfully with a comfortable low action, frets up the board and the board is in excellent condition.
The neck is a typical slim 70s profile - really fast up the board, assisted further by the double cutaways which allow access to the full fretboard.
The weight is middling - not a back breaker, though not a 'light' guitar, though certainly not as heavy as a Les Paul.
A beautiful vintage Japanese set neck guitar constructed of lovely materials to an excellent standard by the acclaimed builders at Matsumoku. No case, but will be well-packed for transit.
