A fantastic Junior/Special ’lawsuit’ model by CMI (Cleartone Musical Instruments), who were actually Jim Marshall’s guitar import brand. I believe these were actually made by Greco and I’ve had identical models badged ‘Custom’.
The guitar is clearly a visual combining of the features of an LP Junior/Special, featuring a double cutaway and 2x P90-esque single coil pickups. Further featured is a typical 70s ‘sandwich’ mahogany body, finished in a fetching Cherry Red. A really cool and nicely-built 70s built Japanese guitar.
Plays nicely with a comfortable low action and some really nice tones to be had from the factory pickups. A doublecut on a budget, with all the quality associated with Japanese guitars of this period.
