For sale is a really cool Framus 5/150 'Stone Bass', produced as a signature model for Bill Wyman during the 1960s. As such, it features the typical 'snooker cue', super slim neck profile on nut width which these basses are desirable for.
It is pretty much all complete and original, save for the odd replaced screw and 1x tuner ferrule, which is a repro part.
These models were being finished in heavy poly lacquer by 1969 (in the same manner as other Euro builders, such as Eko) and as such is has some heavy checking as pictured, though no breaks or structural issues.
It features a handsome sunburst finish, paired with chrome-plated fixtures, which have aged down to a nice vintage patina. No pickguard - I don't believe these models ever came with one. Nice details include tortoiseshell flourishes on portions of the control panel, as well as a subtly arched, super-thinline body.
Plays well with a comfortable action, electronics are fully functional - instant late '60s Stones tone!
A great 60s German-made bass, priced attractively owing to not being a mint example.
