For sale is the absolute holy grail of wahs - an all original, very early (1967) Thomas Organ-sold, but Vox (Italian)-made Cry Baby.
The very same model used by Jimi Hendrix, complete with the coveted (pre-Fasel) 'Halo' inductor, even retaining its original felt to the top.
Super early low 4 digit serial (1899), these were the models available to Americans, badged as 'Cry Baby' owing to Thomas Organ not wanting to sell Vox-branded stock. Dating these can prove rather tricky, though I'm putting production at 1967 owing to all of the specs. It clearly features the same circuit as the original Italian-made Vox Wahs, featuring all-original electronics including the inimitable Italian brown PCB board and Ducati capacitors.
Also concurrent with the above is the original metal housing with a black paint finish, which has tarnished over the years.
Observing the electronics thoroughly, as above they appear to be all original with no replaced parts, original wiring and solder joints. Original 'feet' with flat head screws.
As above, these were the models available to Hendrix / outside of Europe, featuring the more subtle sweep which can be heard on Electric Ladyland and much more.
I have seen similar models rather ambitiously priced but hanging around for quite a while, so I hope to have priced it competitively and realistically.
The original Cry Baby Wah.
