A fantastic original Honer Hawaiian Artist / model 115 lap steel electric guitar in excellent condition.

This one of Hofner's highest-end lap steels, featuring some really ornate appointments, including a mother of pearloid finish, tortoiseshell binding, a proper dark rosewood nut base / fingerboard and a full Hofner 'blade' pickup with adjustable pole pieces.

Difficult to date owing to the lack of serial - however the blade pickup was introduced around 1967 and the model was discontinued shortly after. Hofner blade pickups, in my experience, fare far better 'Toaster' etc style pickups, are of a much sturdier build quality and as such aren't as prone to losing their output. As such, this one is hot, with a great output and hasn't experienced any decay.

In excellent, just about mint condition and probably the best example of this model that I've ever seen. Looking it up and down, it is all original save for some of the tuner mounting screws - which I feel is forgivable. 2 holes are present for a string guard - which were often taken off very swiftly after purchase for playability - and I acquired it as such.

Some minor marks from gentle play but ultimately, very well looked after and it has clearly been stored in its case between play.

Includes a charming homemade case as pictured, which is worn but has done its job in keeping the guitar safe over the past near 60 years.

A great vintage lap steel by renowned German builders, Hofner.
