For sale is a well-built classical guitar, an S. Yairi model 250 dating from 1964 (made in Japan). Very low serial number (10), one of the earliest produced that year.
Dating from just within the transition period, just before Yairi collaborated with Alvarez. As such, it features a solid Spruce top and double-plated Rosewood sides.
In good used condition, well-used but not abused with no evident cracks, repairs or undue damage. Original strip plate tuners, with some minor bending to the odd tuner though all are working as they should.
Appears to be all original, save for an added (period) strap button.
Plays nicely with a comfortable and acceptable action up the board. Some natural wear to the board from decades of play, though the frets are in good condition with life left in them. There is a tiny amount of bridge lift as pictured, though it is solid and has no undue impact on playability.
A very well-built classical with a solid top, made to the exacting standards of the Yairi workshop during the period.
