For sale is a 60s British-made gem - an original Watkins Westminster amp, finished in a striking factory blue and complete with its original cover and hardwired footswitch.
The original owner loved this amp so much that they embossed their name, 'Stu', just below the Watkins logo. I have left this on as a nice bit of history/provenance.
This one is original with a recent service from Coopersonic (Nottingham) and as such its playing beautifully and issue-free.

Service notes:
"In pretty much original condition. This is good, and bad... Like many British amps of this era, it’s full of old “Hunts” branded capacitors, and these do not age well so have to be replaced. This has made it work again, along with a bit of cleaning. There was a great deal of hum/buzz. This mainly down to poor/lazy design – they just grounded one side of the heaters rather than balancing them to ground and this is a sure-fire recipe for lots of hum. It was a little tiresome to sort this out but it has worked well. Valves are all OK. This particular Westminster (there are many) uses 6AQ5 output valves. 12W is perhaps optimistic for these".
A fantastic vintage valve combo and a great piece of British amp making history.
