A beautiful Hofner Senator bass, made in Germany circa 1960s.
A great bass, lightweight and well-built with a huge sound.
This one is largely original and in great condition - good neck angle, free of breaks and features a beautiful flamed top and back and original Sunburst finish.
The pickup is a replacement - though it is an original 60s Hofner 4-pole ‘Diamond’ bass pickup which has benefited from a rewind, and thus has a strong output (vintage Hofner pickups are notorious for dying over time). The electronics were also serviced recently by Fontaine Guitars, Nottingham.
Quite clean, with original tuners, bridge, pots and knobs etc. The thin headstock veneer has some cracks as pictured, but the headstock itself, neck and body are all crack-free and well kept. 
Plays very nicely acoustically owing to the large hollow body, while plugged in it has a classic Hofner sound and benefits from a set of vintage flat wound strings - instant Beatles / 60s tone. It has a decent low action, truss rod is working and as above the neck angle is good and solid.
