A beautiful Hofner model 547 mandolin, made in Germany circa 1960s-early 70s.
 
A well-built mandolin by the folks at Hofner Germany, I believe these were of all-mahogany construction.
 
The clear 'wow factor' comes from its beautifully ornate, carved headstock (pictured) and a beautiful original 'sparkle' pick guard.
 
In excellent condition for its age and appears to be all original.
 
Decent playing action, neck angle is good with minimal lift, cosmetically no signs of damage, repairs or issues to that effect and still retains a nice factory sheen to the finish.
 
Notable too are the 'cats eyes' sound hole - typical of German-constructed strung instruments of the period.
 
Comes with a modern soft case (not pictured).
