For sale is a fun project for someone - this is an authentic factory-paired body and neck from a 1960s Hofner 176/Galaxie model (made in Germany).
 
It has been gutted for all of its parts, only the body and neck are included as pictured - nothing more and nothing less.
 
The good news is that the neck is relatively straight and the truss rod appears to be working.
 
The previous owner took it upon themselves to refinish the guitar many deacdes ago, opting for a Turquoise burst of sorts. They sprayed over the tremolo to the back panel for some reason (pictured).
 
I feel this would be a good basis for a 60s Superstrat project of similar - the parts are of good quality and constructed of the brilliant German timbers available to Hofner at the time. Conversely, one could take the neck and put it on a complete Hofner body.
 
Cheaper than a Squier husk - and of much better quality (in my opinion).
