For sale is a set of factory-matched, early Gibson 'Patent Number' Mini Humbucker pickups.

As with the original PAF, Gibson changed the labels to 'Patent No.' in the early 60s and used Chrome rather than Nickel covers from 1965-onward. The Pat No. sticker lasted until about the very early 70s, meaning that this pair date somewhere between 1965-72 (I think they changed to a 'stamped' back, after this). They were used on Gibson Les Paul Deluxe models and of course mid-60s (Gibson-built) Epiphone models such as the Wilshire, Sorrento etc.

Being a matched pair they have appropriately longer (neck) and shorter (lead) wires, and appropriately read 6.61 and 6.12 respectively on a multi meter. Original windings apparent, with no sign of having been taken apart - with original solder joint to their backs.

Included is a set of same-period surrounds (and again, their concurrent long/short springs and screws) meaning they can be fitted to a Les Paul Deluxe with ease, though are also appropriate for the abovementioned mid-60s Epiphone models (they'd be right at home in a Riviera, etc).

Mini humbuckers are great in my opinion - they're often described as 'cleaner' / 'clearer' and I agree with this. They sound fantastic when played clean, though can be driven to excellent effect on a solid body guitar.

Comes with all parts as pictured, though depending on which model you choose to put them in, they will require the relevant surrounds/fixings etc.

A set of highly underrated Gibson 60s pickups - personally I think they'd do really well in a modern guitar routed for mini humbuckers for an authentic vintage sound.
